Fein GmbH in Bargau

Customized solution for the extraction of process media in the new production hall

Fein is a German company based in Bargau, Baden-Württemberg. The company is a well-known manufacturer of high-quality, electric

hand tools and offers a wide range of products for professional use. Fein was founded in 1867 and over the years has earned an excellent reputation for its innovative and reliable products.

Project

In a new production hall, different processing machines and manufacturing processes were now implemented, which release various emissions. Due to its extensive expertise in the development and manufacture of industrial extraction and filter technology, ASPUR air solutions  was contracted to supply three different filter systems.

In order to extract and filter chips with dust, oil mist as well as vapors and gases, the device types aero4eco, aerog4  and airsorb3  developed by aspur are used as stationary, central extraction systems. The production machines were connected to the extraction systems via widely ramified piping networks. aero4eco  with an extraction capacity of 6000m³/h is a stationary extraction or dedusting system, which is equipped with the most modern motor, filter and control technology. For example, all filters can be changed without tools. The dual-door-system developed by aspur  allows a service technician a quick access from two sides of the plant via full-surface access doors.

The oil mist and aerosol separator aerog4  impresses with its filter system, which consists of multi-stage filter cartridges and thus achieves a filter quality of HEPA- H13. Even the finest particles are separated on the self-draining filters, so that the exhaust air can be returned to the production halls.

Aero4 and aerog4 are designed in a modular system, so that later modifications and further adaptations of filter or discharge systems can be made. The mobile (or stationary) device airsorb3  in ATEX design is a storage filter that adsorbs vapors and gases. The device series, which is protected by a utility model, also enables filter replacement of two filters placed on top of each other without the need for tools. After opening the access door, the filter holder, similar to a drawer, in which the H14 pre-filter and HEPA filter are inserted, is pulled out. The filters can now be easily removed and replaced. In addition, the device is equipped with activated carbon filters that adsorb gases and or odors that arise. Thus, this system, like all of the ASPUR systems and devices, is suitable for returning the exhaust air to the production rooms.

The control systems of all three plants and units are equipped with filter monitors, frequency converters and a Modbus system, so that the plants can also be controlled and monitored from the customer's machine control systems.

Customer comment C. & E. It is the most efficient method and therefore crucial for effective separation of process media, especially in the case of dust, oil mist, steam or smoke. However, with automated manufacturing, there are ever-increasing challenges for implementing pinpoint extraction.

An example of this is the extraction of oil mist from the most modern duplex rigid board milling machines with a travel distance of approx. 20 meters. ASPUR has developed a mobile collection system which enables pinpoint extraction of the resulting aerosols. Two oil mist separators, each with an air volume of 10000 m³/h, are connected to the machines by an extraction duct (here, for example, installed at a height of 2.5 m). An extraction hood adapted to the machine captures the rising oil mist and guides it into the extraction duct with the aid of an extraction slide. The carriage is mounted free-running on the channel and is carried along by the movable milling gantries.

By using the latest filter technology, a separation efficiency of 99.995 % is achieved. Barrier effect: Small, light particles follow the air flow. Inertial effect: Larger particles have a higher mass and therefore higher inertia and follow the air flow with a certain inertia. When the airflow changes direction because it goes around a fiber, the particle's inertia causes it to maintain its direction, bouncing against the fiber and sticking there.

4. Diffusion effect: Very small particles below 1 micrometer (μm) do not follow the flow lines around the filter fiber. They collide with other molecules on their way to the airflow (Brownian motion) and then change direction, also colliding with individual glass fibers where they then stick. The size of the particles has a decisive influence on the effect of the individual separation mechanisms. Due to the diffusion effect, very small, fine particles in particular are separated, while the blocking and inertia effect mainly dominates with particles with a diameter greater than 0.5 µm. With the sieve effect, it is the large particles that are filtered.

Managing Director Joachim Ringler: "With our know-how, we have now developed professional air purifiers to make an important contribution to significantly reducing the contamination of viruses and pollutants in rooms."

Devices with air volume flows of 1000, 2000 and 4000 m³/h were brought onto the market via the subsidiary aspur-air. The models air 1000, air 2000 and air 4000 are equipped with a five-stage filter system in accordance with DIN EN 1822. Ringler: “The HEPA H14 filters used with a separation efficiency of 99.995 percent reliably filter out viruses and the finest particles. In addition, downstream activated carbon filters adsorb harmful gas molecules from the air.”

The ASPUR air purifiers are compact and only require 0.25m², 0.36m² or 0.49m² of installation space. The filters used come from the industrial filter technology used in clean rooms. In order to actually be able to achieve the H14 filter performance, the actual filter surface must be taken into account. If the filter surface load is too high (i.e. air quantity too large or filter dimensioned too small), the HEPA quality can no longer be achieved under certain circumstances.

ASPUR room air purifiers are suitable as individual devices for air purifiing in room sizes of approx. 60m², 120m² and 240m². According to Ringler, several devices can of course be set up in parallel to effectively filter air in larger rooms. The filter control automatically adjusts the power to the specified value and reports if the filter is clogged. ASPUR air purifiers are plug and play devices and can be put into operation immediately. www.aspur.de

Source: ostwuerttemberg.ihk.de
